ANOTHER FAVE QUOTE FROM THE POTIONS MISTRESS: Love is a battlefield and the heart is an innocent victim..
Dear Readers.
Good Sunday morning to you all. I hope this entry finds you all well.
First I would like to address an issue of importance to me. No, this doesn't affect me directly, well it sort of does as I know people from there who i have known since high school. however it's still an important issue nonetheless.
My heart goes out to the victims of the Japan 8.9 earthquake and tsunami that followed that took place on Friday March 11 2011. From everything they have talked about on the news, the images are pretty devistating. I am happy however that they seemed to have their construction of their buildings well in hand as it seems that most of their buildings stood up to the horrible disaster. They not only stood up to the quake itself, but all of the aftershocks that followed. The last count I heard for the number of aftershocks was something around 124, a lot of them being 6.0 or higher on the rictor scale. It is also reported that because of the structure of the buildings, many lives were saved, It pains me to think what kind of loss of life there would have been otherwise. As for the town of Sendai, it sounds like it was the hit hardest by the tsunami that followed the quake. Again, my heart goes out too all of the victims and may they and their families find peace.
i have another worry for the Japanese people. It seems that their, well at least some of their nuclear power plants are in serious trouble. If you want to read more on the nuclear power plant situation over there you can go to many different places to do so. Hell all you'd have to do is google it and you'd come up with many results. Suffice it to say, things are pretty bad when it comes to the power plants. I worry for their safety, there health, there economy and many other things. As I stated above, I'd love to help but i'm not sure exactly how. I know that there country is pretty developed but this doesn't stop my feelings of helplessness however. I was thinking that if I could, I'd like to use my radio station as a way to help them. I was thinking a radiothon or something to see if i could raise funds to send over there but I'm not sure how I'd go about doing it as i have never done something like that before. I will have to put more thaught into it and see if I have anyone who'd like to volunteer to help with it. The other option is that I wouldn't get help but I'd end up getting flamed for it as I know that when you start asking for donations people tend to drift away. I don't wish to push people away, I just want to help.
This just in from twitter: @cnnbrk: Death toll after Japan #quake and #tsunami rises to 1,353, police say. http://on.cnn.com/fA8njR and this as well: @cnnbrk: State of emergency declared at nuclear power plant in Onagawa, Japan, following #quake. http://on.cnn.com/fA8njR and one more: @BreakingNews: Seawater injected into troubled nuclear power plant to avert disaster in Fukushima Prefecture - kyodo http://bit.ly/eAwR2N
I know their are ways to help and donate to them and i'd love to but I'm not sure how. I do know that the Red Cross is taking up donations however after hearing that all of our donations don't go to where they are supposed to, I don't feel that that is the course of action for me. Do I mind donating to other causes? No I don't but if I'm being told that my money is going to one thing, I'd rather see it go to that spacific cause. I'd like to know that part of my donation is going to other causes as well if that is the case but we aren't told that our money is going to help other causes. All we are told is that the funds are going to one spacific disaster, not many other things. Does this make me seem heartless? Hopefully not but if so then I deeply apologize as I'm not a heartless person. I just want to see my donations going to what I donated it for. Ok, I'll stop the rant that was about to or taking place, depending on how one looks at it. If anyone reading this knows of a different way, please leave me a comment and I'll get it as soon as possible.
Ok, enough of the depressing stuff.
I took this quiz a while back and am just now getting around to posting the thing. LOL! I haven't had anything really postworthy so that's why I haven't written as of late. *throws a quiz at everyone's heads*
So I've been told...
Well that's all from here for now. Sorry my entery was a depressing one. I try not to do that to often as I don't wish to chase my readers away.

So I've been told...
Your Dominant Intelligence is Musical Intelligence |
![]() Every part of your life has a beat, and you're often tapping your fingers or toes. You enjoy sounds of all types, but you also find sound can distract you at the wrong time. You are probably a gifted musician of some sort - even if you haven't realized it. Also a music lover, you tend to appreciate artists of all kinds. You would make a great musician, disc jockey, singer, or composer. |
